What this site stores, what it sends elsewhere, and what you can do about it. It is short because the site does very little.

Who this is about
HelioVap Technologies Limited, registered in Hong Kong, operates this site and decides what it collects. You can reach us at info@heliovap.com about anything on this page.

What is stored on your device
A record of your analytics choice, kept in your browser's local storage under heliovap_consent. It holds nothing but the word granted or denied, and it is never sent anywhere. It exists so that we do not ask you again.
A language preference, kept in a cookie named heliovap_locale for twelve months, so the site opens in the language you picked.
Google Analytics cookies, but only if you accept analytics. These are set by Google, named _ga and _ga followed by our measurement identifier, and they distinguish one browser from another so that repeat visits are not counted as new ones.

Analytics, and the fact that it is off by default
This site uses Google Analytics 4 through Google Consent Mode. Every storage category that could identify you starts denied. The tag loads but stays silent, and nothing is measured until you choose to accept. If you decline, it stays silent.
What we look at is aggregate: which pages are read, roughly where visitors arrive from, which language they choose, and whether people find what they came for. We do not build profiles of individuals, we do not run advertising, and we do not sell or share what we collect with anyone for their own purposes.

Fonts, and a request your browser makes to Google
The Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Persian faces used on this site are served by Google Fonts. When you read the site in one of those languages your browser requests those files from Google, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. The Latin faces are served from this site and involve no third party.

Hosting
The site is static and hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Delivering any page involves ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, and those are processed by Microsoft as our hosting provider. We do not have a database and the site has no accounts, no payments and no sign in.

The contact form
The form on the contact page does not submit anything to us. It opens a message in your own email client with the fields filled in, and nothing leaves your device until you send it yourself. Once you do, it is ordinary email: we hold what you wrote, in our mailbox, for as long as the correspondence is useful.

Changing your mind
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the stored choice and the language cookie, and the analytics question will be asked again the next time you visit. Declining is honoured for as long as that record is there. Your browser's own controls for blocking cookies and scripts work here as they do anywhere.

Your rights
Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance in Hong Kong you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask us to stop using it. Because this site collects nothing that identifies you directly, in practice this concerns correspondence you have sent us. Write to info@heliovap.com and we will answer.

Changes to this page
If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date above changes too. We do not keep a version history, so if a specific wording matters to you, keep a copy.
